It was a do-it-yourself Sunday in Athens. After several weeks of planning, Kristi, Bruce, Carole and I got together to put up crown molding in Kristi’s living room.
Kristi’s house came with it in the dining room, but she always felt adding it to the living room (and eventually both bedrooms) would give the house a little more pizzazz. Not to mention setting it apart from other ones in her neighborhood whenever she looks to sell.
Bruce brought his handyman skills (and tools) he learned from his carpenter grandfather, and doing things around his own houses over the years. All the tools were in tow: an electric saw, nail gun with generator, caulking gun, etc. Kristi and I bought the wood on Saturday before the Georgia football game, so we were ready to go.
The room was 63 feet around, so Bruce mapped out the length of pieces needed, and how to cut them at a 45 degree angle. He also explained how to match up the pieces, and how to do corners. My tallness (as Kristi calls it) came in handy when holding up the wood, and using the nail gun. And while Bruce was an expert at cutting and installing the wood, I enjoyed the caulking. We still have to finish painting, but the caulking is finished, and the first in-home do-it-yourself project in Athens is in the books.

Wow! That really does look nice. Do you guys want to head on over here next weekend to help with our floors? :)
Checking back in with comments from the fam. Abbs says "He's a worker man!" Andy says he's surprised you needed Bruce, thought for sure Pops had taught you how to do that already...hehehe.
