How we do weekends

All weekends are good but last weekend was ideal. Not much was planned, so we planned a lot of nothing.

Riding! Andy on our two year old, Sheba. She's doing so well and he's consistently working with her. While she's still growing though, we don't want to go too fast or ask too much of her.

Abigail on Champ, who promptly dumped her in the dirt. That led to the life lesson of brushing yourself off and getting back on the horse. She's tougher than she looks, I tell ya!

Hannah: gate climber extraordinaire!

Playing in the yard included gymnastics, stretching, jogging, four wheeler riding, etc. I'm not exactly sure what this move was but hey, everyone was getting along so it must have been good.

Later in the evening we grilled hamburgers and Andy built a huge campfire. We turned on the radio and sat by the fire until the girls were tired enough that they were asking to go to bed. It was only 9:15!

Hannah managed to catch Henry in the dark.

Relaxation at it's best!

Put another log on the fire! The girls and I loved the sparks that rose when the wood hit the fire.

Camp Atterbury (the military base south of us) was especially active that evening and we watched one huge helicopter after another fly over us.

And we sat and relaxed and enjoyed the sounds of the outdoors. Over the summer we sold our camper, which had a leak that had worsened substantially. At the time we were kind of sad to be without a camper but as busy as things have been for Andy's business, we wouldn't have been able to camp much this year, anyway. The quiet Saturday evening around the campfire was a nice reminder that we can relax the very same way here at home as we would at a campground.

And sit outside until the fire burns down to the embers. The bonus is, when we're tired, we can sleep in our OWN beds! That's priceless.

Looks wonderful! I am proud of both of those girls--getting back on the horse after the fall & not letting a gate stop her! We roasted marshmallows with our fire pit last night and enjoyed the changing season, too. It's nice to be at home!
