On Saturday, we bundled up.... (and dropped Hannah off at the sitter's) to head out to watch the Franklin College Grizzlies play in the NCAA quarter finals of the national tournament. For those of you who only follow big, Division I, bowl bound teams (ahem), the Division III post season follows the same structure as the well known Division I basketball tournament. So, following this example, the Grizzly Football team was part of the 'Elite 8.' We couldn't miss that!
The faithful fans came out strong, the stadium was packed! Our group included Andy, Abby and me, Megan (you can barely see her in this picture, but she's there!), Sharon & Larry (Andy's parents), Dawn (Andy's older sister) and her two kids, Jacob and Mckenzie. Hmm, where were my sister in law Susanna and brother in law Clint who are
also alums????? Wimps!
It snowed all the way through the game, but it was a lot of fun anyway. Thank goodness they had 'warming tents' setup, one with food for employees and their families. Since Andy's parents both work there, we got to partake!
We had a great time but were more than ready to head home by late in the 3rd quarter. Next year we'll have to make it to more warm weather games!

Ruthie, what kind of football update is this? You left out the score!! And I don't even think you mentioned who they played to reach the Final Four! For heaven's sake, this update is more geared toward The Weather Channel instead of SportsCenter. Yeesh.
Now, stop it. The Grizzlies lost and I didn't want that to be the focus. I'm not the sports reporter here, you are!
Now Keith, your sister is right. We should have had you at the game with us so we could have had a proper play by play post. Perhaps you would have been tougher than us anyway, and made it through the whole game!!! Southern California looks fun. And a lot warmer than IN this time of year. Oh, and you'll be glad to know that my fantasy team finished first in the regular season. Playoffs are this week. I'll keep you posted.
