The first thing we did was take a hike. Andy and I love hiking and we take the opportunity to walk in the woods every chance we get. My husband leading a hike is like a kid in a candy store. Here he is showing everyone some tiny tadpoles in a puddle. Really, his attention to detail is amazing, he's great at leading hikes because he notices tons of things I would miss.
I had a passenger for the hike, in her "packpack." The rest of the kids did great, with just a short piggyback ride for Abigail and Benjamin.
The girls couldn't pass up the wildflowers. Oops, I just remembered that we promised to show Clara how to dye Queen Anne's Lace with food coloring and we forgot to do that. Clara, remind me of that next summer if you don't have this lovely weed in Mississippi.
Gracie and Benjamin:
These two were two peas in a pod! Hannah loves big kids, especially her cousins. At six and a half, Clara has begun to qualify as a big kid in Hannah's book. Clara even brought fun toys for Hannah, including a little baby doll that she loved.
Wonderful campfire, perfect for roasted hot dogs and s'mores. Even though we forgot the ketchup and mustard, no one went hungry!
Once home again on Saturday, Andy took everyone (in shifts) for a ride in the wagon. Champ is such a good sport and the kids loved the ride. Checkout Benji as co-pilot.

Since Halseys had to leave on Sunday right before church, we had a great opportunity for a group shot. Oh my. Four kids with plenty of distractions, itches to scratch, some sneezes, cats walking by, etc. I was going to post all of the pictures it took to get this one but decided to save some time here. There were a bunch! I really like this one though, it shows how much the kids really resemble each other in some ways.
We had a great visit!

Great recap, Ruthie! We had such a good time with you all and really enjoyed the nice weather, too. Thanks again for everything you all did to make it a fun vacation for us! We are fired up to try camping on our own, but I think we'll wait until the heat index is a bit more bearable.

I'm glad the cousins get to see each other a couple times a year, and yes, there certainly is some resemblance.
