Last week, the wedding festivities motored ahead with another tradition - the women's bridal shower. Kristi looked forward to this one especially because of the out of town guests coming in town. Her future mother-in-law all the way from Franklin, IN. Her aunt Gayle (Bruce's sister) from New York, and Uncle Rich (Carole's brother) and Aunt Patti from Nashville.
Emily and Sam organized the shower, and Carole was especially giddy to spread childhood pictures of me around the house as decorations.
The highlights of the shower were a game of how-well-do-you-know-the-couple. It featured questions such as first date, first member of the Farner family Kristi met, Kristi's first Christmas gift from me, etc. Another game was search for random stuff in your purse, and Gayle won going away, and would have won by the mercy rule if not for emptying key items at the airport security checkpoint.
Also after the shower, the arts and crafts began. Polk, Gayle and Kristi punched snowflake holes for the invitations. And Kristi and Polk tag-teamed the vail, adding bling left and right. (Also this weekend, Kristi some of the gals bought her wedding shoes and had the dress altered by my man Luis, our tailor/dry cleaner.)
The theme of the shower was "firsts." Some of the gifts were "first argument," a rolling pin from Gayle, "first time apart," DVDs of A League of Their Own and The Blind Side from Gracie, "first vacation/staycation" a yard game set from Laura, "first house guest/breakfast," a griddle, egg set and coffee pot from Rich and Patti.

Kristi looks so pretty with her veil on! And the wine glass in the first picture is funny. The shower sounded like a lot of fun!
