Everyone bundled up (Hannah had planned to stay in but made a gametime decision to join us) and we headed out. In the first picture was the very popular, and likely very old, dog sled that our neighbor brought over. Andy is using it some in working with the horses, but it was a perfect vehicle for sledding. Hannah felt better in her snug little sled, so Andy just tied it to the back of the big sled. Nothing fancy, but it worked.
Here's Hannah in her small sled. I think next year she'll have to give this one up or her feet will be dragging along.
This is Andy at his happiest! I told you he loves this weather (crazy!) and he absolutely loved having everyone come out and play with him in the snow.
The horses were happy to have a visitor, they're always happy to have a visitor! Noses are always ready and waiting for a pat, rub or scratch.
Jacob ran and ran in the snow and then fell, acting exhausted. I think he was just looking for an excuse to roll around in the snow ;-) On a short break to warmup in the garage, Jacob told us that he'd like to start coming to our house every Saturday!
Without a doubt, the highlight of Jacob's day was the three wheeler he's riding in this picture (below). We've had it for a long time and the girls aren't big enough, or brave enough, to ride it yet. Andy is too big and so it had just been sitting. Plans to sell it were discussed but after seeing the fun Jacob had with it yesterday, I'd be surprised if Andy sells it anytime soon.
Eventually, everyone was cold. We took breaks warming up by the woodstove in the garage. The outdoor temperature was sixteen degrees and it was WINDY! It's always windy here though.
Hannah and Abigail spent equal time sledding, and snacking on peanuts in the garage. I never knew the fun and adventure of cracking open peanut shells.
And then there's me. Designated finger and toe warmer, kid bundler and supper fixer.
We spent the evening in the cozy, warm house. French braids had to be done so that Mckenzie could have wavy hair this morning. Chocolate chip cookies were fixed (thanks to Andy for my lovely KitchenAid mixer!!) and dough was sampled by the spoonful. Pillow pets were lined up for fun, the sit n' spin was rediscovered and everyone played house. We let the kids stay up to watch the first half of the Colts game and they all slept so well. Even though I don't love the winter, we had a fun cold weather day!

Maybe Andy's next entreprenurial venture should be winter weekend camps for kids (and a few grown-ups that like cold weather). Looks like everyone had a good time and you got some good pics!!
Fun! You guys have to be the best Aunt and Uncle ever!!!!
That does look like fun! Are you guys campaigning for the 2011 Aunt and Uncle of the Year awards?! :)
