My Sunday morning began with breakfast in bed accompanied by musical performances!
The performers hard at work
After everyone got ready for the day, we headed over to the church picnic at a home on several acres in the Mississippi Delta (flat farmland just outside Charleston). The worship service was held in the front yard and all of the music was done by our church band, the "Joyful Jammers." Andy played lead guitar and sang all the songs along with me on a lap harp, another guitar, two dulcimers, an autoharp, two harmonicas and double bass. We played "Old Time Religion," "Church in the Wildwood," "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands," "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms," "Jesus Loves Me, " and "When the Saints Go Marching In." I didn't get any pictures or video since I was busy playing! After the service, we all enjoyed a picnic style lunch on the grounds. Then, kite flying, fishing and other games began. Clara spent her time fishing while Benji took two rides on a horse!
We had to leave a little early because Mr. Bell hosts an annual Mother's Day violin recital for his entire studio and Clara was first on the program! So, we headed to Oxford and listened to an audio CD of Farmer Boy along the way.
And, here's the video of her playing (and me accompanying) the Minuet No. 1 by J.S. Bach from the Suzuki Book No. 1. There wasn't much room to walk around and get a clear video shot, so this was the best Andy could get. Notice his cute and relaxed seat mate. :)

The music at church sounds wonderful and Clara played so well! I can hear the improvement since her last recital. Looks like Benji could discuss strategies for sitting through recitals with Uncle Keith!
Sounds great! I could get down with a little "When the Saints Go Marching In." And Ben, I'll be glad to pass along some recital pointers.
Bravo, Clara! And Grace! Sounds wonderful. Clara, I am amazed at how much you've learned this year. Andy, the picnic and all the activities you have going always sound like such fun---and hymns that people know the words to...nice! Benji, you are a loyal bro to sit and listen to Clara.
