A Zavitz Christmas (Eve)

It wouldn’t be a holiday dinner at the Zavitz house without an off-the-charts menu courtesy of Bruce.
This year, we had bean soup with chicken broth as an appetizer, the main course was pasta with shrimp, pot roast, and beanie weenies. The dessert was homemade cheesecake, which I called the best Bruce dessert I’ve had, which says a little bit.
After dinner on Christmas Eve, we “helped” Kailey Kate and Cate find Santa after he left the roof, by rattling some jingle bells on the second floor, and the girls looked for him outside.
When we went to the basement, Santa left piles and piles of gifts for everyone.
Among my gifts were two shirts, a set of steak knives, a box of Omaha steaks, a Black and Decker variable speed orbital jigsaw, and a 22-piece Precision Ratcheting screwdriver set. In my stocking Kristi and I opened on Christmas morning was a variety of items, from chicken wing sauce, to Febreze To Go, Twizzlers, Old Spice body spray, to St. Sebastiaan Golden Belgian Ale, among others.
The pictures fill in the cracks.

You two probably take the cake for 'most Christmas celebrations in 2009!' Next time you visit, bring some of Bruce's cheesecake, okay? By the way, the girls miss you both already.

Have you thought of applying for a journalism job with a food magazine?
