Reception taste-testing

Of all the things you do to prepare for a wedding, the top two fun things to do are register (and click the inventory gun) and taste test for the reception.

Kristi and I enjoyed the latter on Sunday at Trump's Catering, the company providing the food for The Big Day. The interesting twist about many of the Athens venues for weddings, and perhaps other events, is the building and caterer are under one umbrella. You can't have one without the other. Fortunately, The Georgian and Trump's are a good combination.

Without further ado, here's the rundown of food we'll have, and other interesting presentations, and some center piece ideas for those of you brainstorming.

At the reception, we'll have stations that may turn into a mini-buffett:

- A salad station, featuring cherry tomatoes and mozzarella balls in martini glasses.
- A carving station for ham and/or turkey.
- Lasagna (meat and vegetable).

These aren't official yet, because of price adjustments, and seating arrangements. But it gets your stomach growling, and in September, that's all you can ask for.

Mozzarella balls and cherry tomatoes

The traditional fruit and cheese plate, but also features mac and cheese bites! Sadly, they won't be in the building for The Big Day.

Sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes, which make up a potato bar or station. Interesting, but won't make an appearance at the K & K festivities.

Boneless wings, ham, turkey, roast beef and a biscuit.

A couple of carving stations.

And now, an assortment of centerpiece ideas. The mirror below, could be a way to display the cupcakes. But it's just an option so far.

The food all looks fabulous!! I loved the tomatoes and mozzarella balls in the martini glasses. Also, the sweet potatoes sounded great but then "sweetzie taties" are one of my all time favorites. Thanks for the preview!!

Now all you have to do is remember to print: "Yum, yum! Y'all come!" on your invitations!
