Four is Big Enough...

Monday, July 27th was Abigail's 4th birthday. I took the day off from work to spend it with the girls. We went to the library, the park (above) and since both are within walking distance of Franklin College, we stopped into see Grandma & Grandpa. Since it was almost time for Sharon & Larry to go to lunch, we were all able to enjoy some fine dining at McDonald's. Abigail bought her own lunch with a gift card from Uncle Keith!

On Sunday, we had a flip flop themed party with family and some close friends. Abigail got so many wonderful presents and is thoroughly entertained, playing with something new all the time.

The Flip Flop Cake

The Birthday Girl!
Four is Big Enough To:

  • Pick out clothes and dress yourself
  • Request specific hairstyles
  • Start learning to write your name
  • Cut with scissors, without supervision
  • Swim in Grandma's pool without being afraid
  • Help, actually help, not just going through the motions
  • Really love your little sister and say "I'm so glad we had her!"
  • Understand how most, if not all, of the extended family is related
  • Play pretend in more vivid ways all the time
  • Keep track (or start to) of your own belongings
  • Learn song lyrics and sing them over and over and over again
  • Have interests, friends and fun ideas all on your own

Happy Birthday, Abigail! We love the sweet, sensitive, funny and fun person you're growing into!

Well, Ruthie was Milestone Margaret with this post, complete with bullets. Is the 5-year old birthday when we do the power point presentation? Shooooweee!
Glad Abner had such a fun birthday, and hope she spends plenty of time with her fun gifts.

What a great recap! She is really a little lady these days and I love reading about her new abilities and developing personality. The cake looks fantastic! You should post it somewhere online! I'm glad you had such a nice day for the party.
