Meet Biscuits!

Ever since last year's kitties, Bonnie and Clyde, wandered off into the woods never to return, we've been planning to start the kitty project over again. Hopefully with more lasting results! Andy continually reminds me that these things 'happen to pets in the country, sometimes they just wander off...try not to get too upset over it.' Easier said than done! Abigail has told us a few times this spring that her 'cats are wost!' and wants to know when we can get new ones. So, this summer we have begun again. This time the kittens will be getting spayed or neutered and will have a couple of weeks at home with supervision (courtesy of Mom, who'll be staying with the girls) before they're given much freedom. Hopefully they'll stick around!

Abigail was charged with naming the cats awhile back, so that she would have plenty of time to think about this. One afternoon in March or April, she was discussing cat names with a friend of ours who has a cat named Gravy (originally part of a pair named Biscuits and Gravy). A couple of weeks ago she told me that her new cat would be named Biscuits, since Campbell has a cat named Gravy. I couldn't believe she remembered that conversation! I had to rack my own brain to recall the details. Anyway, since we're getting two kittens (one for each girl), she's decided to keep the theme and we'll have Biscuits and Gravy. Gravy isn't here yet but probably will arrive in the next few days. Funny thing is, Biscuits is kind of the color of a biscuit!

This morning she came out of her cat carrier for playtime from 5:30 to about 6:15. I've never seen our little sleepyhead get out of bed so cheerfully! Hannah came down later on and squealed and laughed at Biscuits as she (he?) jumped and played on the porch. The only disagreement so far: Hannah wants to hold Biscuits but Biscuits does not want to be held by Hannah!

Those might be the best names ever for kitties. Very fitting since you make the best biscuits and gravy ever:0)

This sounds like a great project for Polk and the girls! Tell Biscuits and Gravy that Rosebush says "hi."
